The Living room - retail store design
We reimagined what a store could be—then left the idea of a store behind entirely.
This project was born from a simple question: what if retail felt more like a friend’s house than a showroom?
So we created a space built around comfort, connection, and casual discovery. A hybrid between a living room and a kitchen, this concept store invites people to linger, chat, sip coffee, and explore—not just products, but feelings.
Every corner was designed to disarm the idea of consumption and elevate the experience of simply being. From soft sofas and curated playlists to open shelving and pour-over mornings, this wasn’t about selling—it was about sharing.
We studied how people behave in familiar environments versus commercial ones. We observed how community forms in living spaces: around kitchen islands, on couches, over shared music. We knew we didn’t want to build a shop—we wanted to build a feeling.
From there, the concept unfolded like a home:
- The living room became the heart—cozy, inviting, layered with textures.
- The kitchen bar became the pulse—serving coffee, sparking conversation.
- The products were scattered like objects of interest in someone’s home—meant to be discovered, not displayed.
- The experience prioritized human connection over customer conversion.
We wanted people to feel like they were visiting, not shopping.
To slow down, to hang out, to belong.
That’s how “the living room” became our concept—and our message.
